Adangba community holds special prayers for Yahaya Seriki’s 2027 governorship aspiration
Residents of Adangba community in Ilorin have organized a special prayer session in support of the governorship aspiration of Ambassador AbdulFatai Yahaya Seriki ahead of the 2027 elections in Kwara State.
The spiritual gathering, held at the Adangba Mosque and convened by the Atotileto Descendant Families, drew a large turnout of supporters, cutting across different political parties, in a show of solidarity for Yahaya Seriki’s ambition regardless of partisan affiliations.
The event brought together prominent traditional rulers, community leaders, clerics, and academics, reflecting what organizers described as a broad-based endorsement rooted in shared interest for the state’s future.
Leading the prayer session was the Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Fadilat Sheikh Mujitaba Yusuf, alongside other respected Islamic clerics, who offered prayers for wisdom, guidance, and success for the aspirant.
Notable attendees at the event included the Imam of Adangba, Alhaji Basiru Sulaiman Atotileto; the Provost of Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Prof. Abduganiyu Abdulsalam Abimbola; as well as several academics such as Asst. Prof. Dhikiru Shafiyi, Asst. Prof. O.R. Azeez, Dr. D.I. Jimoh, Dr. M.J. Dosunmu, Dr. Toyin Shittu, Asst. Prof. Saheed Badmus, Dr. Talubi Oladimeji, Dr. I.I. Yahaya, Mallam Bundu, Dr. Qomorudeen, Asst. Prof. Uthman Idrees, Dr. Zubairu Abdulhakeem, Dr. Mashood Musa Danjuma, Dr. Muritala Imama Akeyede, Prof. Mashood Abdulraheem Ajibola, Prof. Shuaib Ologele, Dr. Dansuki, Dr. Qosim Yusuf of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Abdulkabir of Kwara State University, and Prof. Abdullahi Mashood of the National Open University of Nigeria.
Also in attendance were traditional and community leaders, including Magaji Sarumi Agbodoroko, Alhaji Sulaiman Oba Alagua Awe, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Musa Alagua Baba Dudu, and Alhaji Abdulhamid Babadudu.
Participants at the event emphasized unity and collective responsibility, noting that the prayer session symbolized a shared desire for credible leadership and progress in Kwara State.
