Adamawa varsity declares Dr. Lagu acting VC as Prof. Farauta resigns
Dr Stephen Lagu has been announced the new acting Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, ADSU, Mubi.
This development was announced on Thursday evening, following a meeting of council of the University during the immediate past vice Chancellor, Professor Kaleptapwa Farauta, presented her resignation.
The Chairman of the University Council, Dr Awwal Tukur while addressing pressmen revealed that the University Council has appointed Dr Lagu as the acting VC after it acceptance of Farauta’s resignation.
He added that the immediate past VC, Farauta had to leave her position as the VC to face her campaign as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, deputy governorship designate in the state.
The Informant247 recalls that the immediate past VC of the institution, Farauta has been chosen as the deputy governorship candidate and running mate to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP.
“The acting VC is to assume duties on January 1, 2023,” Awwal said.
The chairman added that the process of choose a new VC would be begin soon.
The new acting vice Chancellor was given birth to in 1959.
He has got a BA. Ed., in English and a PhD in English for Specific Purpose.
He has once been the Dean of Education Faculty, and later the deputy vice Chancellor ( Administration) in the same institution.
