Accolades as foundation hosts summer lesson for students in Ijagbo

The gubernatorial candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the 2019 general elections, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi has received commendations as his foundation concludes the maiden session of its summer lesson for basic students.

The one-month-long summer lesson which has about 1000 students in attendance was held at the Ansaru-deen LGEA school in Ijagbo.

Speaking during a mini ceremony organised at the end of the exercise, a former commissioner for communications, Hon. Murtala Olarewaju commends the US-based philanthropist.

The former commissioner, who admonished the students to continue taking their studies as a priority, hailed the parent for releasing them describing it as a key to success.

Abayomi Ayodele, one of the parents who described Oyabambi as a man of the people said, “When the foundation said they will bring the summer lesson here, we initially thought it was a joke, but what I am seeing today, I am more than impressed. He didn’t even take a dime for one complete month.

“This programme is worth commending. I pray that he succeeds in all his endeavors. It has been a very long time we last witness this in Ijagbo community”

The chairman of the disabilities in Offa and Oyun Local Government said, “If you talk about achievement, Oyabambi has a lot achievement. Is it in terms of empowerment, education, or others? Just name it! I am impressed with what he is doing to uplift the disabled. If he comes out for anything tomorrow, he has our full support.”

Speaking on behalf of the founder, Otunba Oyabambi, the head of the foundation the short programme was meant to prepare the student ahead of the next session and revise works of previous classes.

“The reason for this is to prepare them for the coming session. They should not just sit at home or go to the street hawking during the holiday. We spoke to Otunba and he approved our proposal. When we started it, it was not easy, but we thank God it has been achieved.”

The foundation donating books to the students also promised scholarships to the brights ones.
