AbdulRazaq’s group seeks govt’s support for farmers in Ilorin East
The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Support Group (AASG) in Ilorin East Local Government, on Thursday, boasted that the Local Council Area can successfully produce foodstuffs that would feed the entire Kwara population, if supported by the government.
This was disclosed while engaging its members in a round table discussion at the Honorable Quarters in Ilorin, the state capital.
According to an elder of the forum, Alhaji Abdulrahman Yusuf, he explained how the local government can feed the population of Kwara State but needs help from the state government to establish and achieve this.
He said, “We have a lot of lands that we can use for different things, though we told the Gov during pre-election but because we don’t have anyone upstairs to remind him, Ilorin east alone can cater for all Kwarans. We have Tourism in Ilorin east but no one to help present it to the Governor, We have made a proposal on tomatoes and okra, we can produce fishes, we have ponds and lands to use but we need the state Government’s help.”
For her part, the Woman Leader of the group, Alhaja Rukayat Segilola Alaya implored the founder of the group, Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim to keep up his good work.
She stated, “You’re a God sent, we pray nothing bad happens to you. May you be healed by Allah’s grace. It is a great respect to be a politician and it is an encouragement for every leader to have something tangible done as an office holder.”
The founder of the group, Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim appreciated members of the group for striving together for a better Kwara.
He stated, “I am aware of all the tribulations most especially when I wasn’t in the city, thank you for standing by me. We are the ASSG and we shall continue to support the Governor because our intentions are good and it is in alignment with God.”
Meanwhile, in a separate statement issued by the Coordinator of the group in Ilorin East, Comr. Saka Shuaib, he applauded the unprecedented achievements of the Executive Governor of Kwara state, and also the unflinching support of the founder of the group, Alh. Hon, Iliasu Ibrahim.
“I want to say categorically that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has made us proud and we are proud of him, I pray to Almighty God to transform Kwara state with his developmental projects till 2027,” he added.
