AbdulRazaq: Kwara to get coronavirus testing lab soon

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says the state will soon get a Coronavirus testing laboratory.

AbdulRazaq disclosed this on Monday while meeting with representatives of CSOs in the state.

The governor’s spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye in a statement sent to THE INFORMANT247, quoted him to have said that the state would soon have a testing centre as the NCDC team is expected in the state in the coming days to discuss the issue.

He added that there was no use buying rapid test kits whose results would not be recognised.

Meanwhile, the governor has suggested the setting up of a volunteer team drawn from the labour unions and the civil society to complement the efforts of the security agencies to stop the influx of people into the state.

He reiterated his call on Kwara communities and individuals to take responsibility as the country struggles to flatten the curve of transmission of the virus amid rising infection rate.

The number of Coronavirus infection in the state hit 34 on Sunday.
