‘AbdulRazaq is doing well’, Kwara Commissioner welcomes decampees to APC
Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Barr. Senior Ibrahim Sulyman on Saturday welcomed hundreds of members of the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The defectors, led by one of the chieftains of PDP in Galadima/Dongari zone, Hammed Galadima known as ‘Ninety’, said their decision to leave PDP for APC was based on what Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has achieved in 2 years.
Galadima said that the event was to officially declare their defection, stating that they have started attending political meetings with other APC members under the leadership of Barrister Senior.
Another defector, Dayo Sanusi who put the number of the decampees to APC at Saturday program at 513 said that they left PDP “because Governor AbdulRazaq is doing well”.
Receiving them at the event held at the Gegele area, The Commissioner thanked them for recognizing the good work of the governor and for seeing the future APC represents in the state.
Barr Senior, thereby, recounted the achievement of the governor in just two years and assured them that the administration is ready to do more.
He, meanwhile, said that the governor has been treating people equally irrespective of the political differences, citing the palliative distribution of roofing sheets to victims of rainstorm disasters and during the COVID-19 pandemic among others.
He said, “Though the governor is yet to disclose if he will be running for the second term, we all know he deserves it.”
In his speech, Galadima thanked APC for the opportunity and said their defection is in the interest of the development of Kwarans.
He thereby joined several “progressives” to plead with Governor AbdulRazaq to seek a second term.
