99% of bandits operating in North are Nigerians, says Security analyst
Yahuza Getso, a security and intelligence analyst, has claimed 99 per cent of all bandits operating across Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions are Nigerians, and that security agencies are fully aware of the bandits’ identities and locations.
The security expert made this known on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief.
He said, “99.9% of the bandits operating in North-West and North-Central Nigeria are Nigerians. We know them, we know who they are, we know where they are. They are not in any hideout or any difficult terrain.”
Getso’s remark came following the unfortunate abduction of no fewer than 25 students from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, and the killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba in Borno State.
The Informant247 gathered that the Kebbi school attack occurred Sunday night when armed men stormed the premises, killing the vice principal and abducting 25 female students.
Residents had reportedly been on alert after receiving reports of attacks in nearby communities the previous day, but the gunmen still infiltrated the area, leaving the town in fear and mourning.
Also, Brigadier General Uba, initially declared safe by the Nigerian Army after an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) ambush along the Damboa–Biu axis in Borno, was later confirmed dead.
ISWAP on Tuesday released images claiming responsibility for capturing and killing the senior officer.
