A 53-year-old individual with a history of car theft has been arrested once more by the Ogun State police.

Sunday Dosunmu was apprehended in Abeokuta’s Leme area as he attempted to unlock cars using fabricated keys on Saturday evening.

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the police public relations officer, Dosunmu had been previously arrested on September 17, 2022, for attempting to steal a car with his syndicate from a park.

Despite his arrest, Dosunmu continued his illicit activities.

In the most recent incident, Dosunmu was spotted using fabricated master keys to unlock cars in the Leme area.

Observers raised the alarm, prompting Dosunmu to flee. However, local youths pursued and captured him, leading to his subsequent arrest by the police.

Found in his possession were two fabricated iron master keys, tools commonly employed by car thieves to unlock vehicles without the owners’ knowledge.

The police plan to fully prosecute Dosunmu, as his persistent criminal behavior demonstrates a lack of repentance, regardless of his age.

Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu has instructed law enforcement to gather substantial evidence for the court case to ensure that justice is served and the suspect is held accountable for his actions.
