4 persons escape death as Dangote truck crushes car in Ilorin
At least 4 persons escaped death in a crash involving two vehicles in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, on Thursday.
The accident occurred on the Asa-Dam stretch of road in the city.
Omotayo Taofiq, the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority spokesperson, confirmed the crash to THE INFORMANT247 correspondent.
He said the affected vehicles included a Toyota SUV, and a Dangote truck.
Mr. Taofiq said 4 persons – a lone driver in the SUV and three occupants in the truck – were involved in the crash adding that no casualties were recorded.
“Though, both parties trade blame, what we were able to accertain is that the incident took place from the beginning of Asa-Dam bridge and that the truck move the vehicle to that point in the picture. About a hundred metres. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The driver of the car is not even injured.

“Together with the FRSC (Federal Road Safety Corps), we cleared the road for other motorists, before the police took over, which is the norm in every accident case,” Mr. Taofiq said.
