4 persons die as container knocks cars into river on Rivers road

4 persons have lost their lives as a container fell on Aleto bridge in Rivers State.

Casualties were recorded around the Eleme axis of the East-West road in Rivers State, as a 40ft container fell on Aleto bridge.

The smaller vehicles were reported to have been knocked into the river by the container.

The incident happened, Friday during the heavy downpour.

There was heavy gridlock on the road as users of the road got stranded.

The police command in Rivers State has not reacted to the incident as at the time of producing this report.
