4 men arrested for invading warehouse, stealing items worth millions in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four men who allegedly invaded a warehouse and dispossessed the owners of items worth millions of Naira.
The spokesperson of the police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this revelation through his verified Twitter page monitored by the Informant247 on Tuesday.
The image maker of the police command said that the suspects also launched an attack on a student and dispossessed him of his personal belongings while he was on his way back from school.
Hundeyin narrated that while three of the suspected criminal elements were apprehended around 4:55 a.m. on Monday by officers who were on patrol from Ikotun Division, the fourth suspected member of the gang was arrested around 1:02 a.m on Tuesday at Ojota bus stop.
The mouthpiece of the police command added that the security operatives had apprehended three suspected thieves when they were trying to ran away with stolen items after they had invaded a warehouse at Kwara Bus stop, Igando Road.
The spokesperson of the police command has sent message of advice to members of the public to always be diligent and conduct background security checks before purchasing goods, especially vehicles, to avoid finding themselves in trouble or to avoid being treated as a conspirator.
”This is so as the owners of the stolen items or vehicle may have reported the theft to the police for recovery.
”Snatched and stolen vehicles are being sold, sometimes through registered car dealers,” he said, adding that “under the law, ignorance is not an excuse. “
