3rd batch of Kwara pilgrims depart for Saudi Arabia

The third batch of 560 intending pilgrims from Kwara State departed for Saudi Arabia this afternoon, Saturday, May 17, 2025, to partake in the Hajj rites.

Addressing the pilgrims before their departure, the State Amirul-Hajj, Barrister Ismail Bolaji Yahaya, emphasized the importance of conduct during their journey. He stated, “Please be patient, conduct yourselves well, and remain good ambassadors of Kwara State throughout your time in Saudi Arabia.”

Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, Chairman of the Board, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, noting that it has been vital for the success of the Board’s initiatives and programs.

This third group of pilgrims was accompanied by five officials from NAHCON and three state officials, including Alhaji Mahmud Buge and Hassanat Ahmed. With this latest airlift, a total of 1,535 pilgrims have now been transported from Kwara to Saudi Arabia.

Looking ahead, the fourth batch of intending pilgrims is scheduled to be airlifted on Monday, May 19, 2025, bringing the total number of Kwara pilgrims participating in this year’s Hajj to 2,174.

The Max Airline flight landed at Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin, at 1:40 PM and took off for Saudi Arabia at exactly 4 PM.
