37-yr-old man remanded for allegedly stealing 150 elastic rail clips in Kaduna

A 37-year-old man, Dodo Garba, has been remanded in a correctional facility overalleged theft of 150 elastic rail clips.

He was remanded by a Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State on Tuesday.

Garba has been charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with theft, mischief and criminal trespass.

Magistrate Michael Bawa, who presided over the matter ordered the remand of Garba.

The magistrate has adjourned the case until Nov.15 for further mention.

The Counsel of the NSCDC, Mr Marcus Audu,
earlier, informed the court that the case was brought to the awareness of the corps’ by the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Kafanchan on October 11.

The counsel added Garba proceeded to the rail track at Kurmi and illegally took away 150 clips and was caught by vigilante personnel.

He further said that the offence was in contravention of the provisions of section 237, 313, 271 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

The defendant has also pleaded not guilty to the charges.
