36-yr-old man rapes 5-yr-old boy to death in Ogun

A 36-year-old man, Sikiru Ajibola, has allegedly raped a 5-year-old boy to death in Ogijo area of Sagamu local government.

The spokesperson of the Police Command in Ogun State, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement released in Abeokuta, the capital of the State on Saturday.

The spokesperson said a complaint made by the CDA Chairman of Olorunwa Arogbeja Ogijo at the Ogijo divisional headquarters assisted the arrest of the suspected rapist.

The image maker of the police command said that the chairman had lodged a complaint that the suspect raped the small boy, which eventually led to his death.

Oyeyemi added that upon receiving the complaint, Enatufe Omoh, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ogijo division, immediately mobilized his officers to the affected scene where the arrest of the suspect was effected.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed engaging in homosexuality and that while he was having sex with the deceased boy, he died.

“He confessed further that he quickly dug a shallow grave in a nearby bush, where he hurriedly buried the boy.

“He has also taken policemen to where the deceased was buried,” Oyeyemi said.

Mr Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, has directed that the matter be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for extensive probe and prosecution.
