3 die as Nigerian military helicopter crashes in Niger Republic

3 persons have reportedly lost their lives in Nigerian military helicopter crash which occurred at an airport in Niger Republic.

Report has it that there was a Nigerian military helicopter crash at an airport in Niamey, the capital of the country, on Monday, December 26, 2022.

According to the defence ministry, 3 persons lost their lives on board, including an expatriate instructor.

The statement revealed that the helicopter crashed while returning from a routine training flight.

It also revealed that the crash caused flames, and blocked people from approaching the affected area to rescue the crew.

The statement also added that a commission of inquiry has been put in place to ascertain the cause of the accident.
