Kunke Ayenuro, a 28-year-old apprentice fashion designer, appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State on Wednesday for suspected burglary and theft of a N150,000 mobile phone.
The offender, whose address was not provided, is charged with two counts of burglary and theft.
The police prosecutor, Insp Ayodeji Omoyeigha, informed the court that the defendant burgled the room apartment of one Agnes Ikuejama at No. 15 Ola Ayeni Street, Okitipupa in the Okitipupa Magisterial district on Jan. 17 at 11.30 a.m.
He went on to say that the defendant took an Infinix Hot-8 Android phone worth N150, 000 and N100, 000 in cash, for a total of N250, 000.
Omoyeigha went on to say that the crimes violated Sections 516 and 390 (9), Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant, on the other hand, pled not guilty to the accusation levelled against him.
Mr Chris Ojuola, the Chief Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
He went on to say that the sureties, who must live within the court’s jurisdiction, must also exhibit and produce proof of a two-year tax payment to the state government.
He rescheduled the case until Feb. 28 for a new hearing.
