25-year-old man remanded for allegedly raping housewife in Kwara

A twenty five year old cattle rearer, Hassan Namusa, is now in the Correctional Service Centre for allegedly having canal knowledge of another man’s wife in Kaiama Area of Kwara State.

According to the police investigation, Namusa, holding a dummy gun, stopped the victim, Hauwa Sanni, who was coming from the river and ordered her into the bush where she eventually rapped her.

Police First Information Report revealed that the victim with one Hurewa Sanni are both wives Alahaji Sanni Shehu who had gone to the river to fetch water.

Sobi FM’s Judiciary Correspondent, Kayode Adeoti, reports that Namusa allowed Heruwa to go because she was carrying baby but forced Hauwa into sex.

The presecutor, Abubakar Issa, urged the court to remand Namusa, claiming his offences are not ordinarily bailable.

Magistrate Agbetola Aminat Issa, who precised over the matter, however, ordered the defendant’s remand till 14th of next month.
