24 hours to swearing-in, Yobe LG Caretaker Chair dies

Hon. Lawan Gana, the newly appointed Chairman, Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, died on Thursday.

Gana died at Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, after a brief illness, a report has said.

This is coming barely 24 hours when Governor Mai Mala Buni will be swearing in all the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees.

The deceased was elected as a member Yobe State House of Assembly between 2023 and 2007, the deceased was elected as member Yobe State House of Assembly representing Karasuwa local government on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

He was also a PDP deputy gubernatorial candidate in 2015 before he defected to APC in 2019.
