Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, has sent a goodwill message to this year’s Hajj pilgrims while urging them to continue to pray for the nation’s peace, unity and prosperity.
In a statement by Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir’s spokesman, tasked the pilgrims to use their visit to the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a great opportunity to move closer to Allah.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, while thanking Allah for His numerous blessings on the people of Ilorin Emirate, the people of Kwara State and Nigerians at large stressed that “While in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, you are expected to pray for global peace and harmony.”
According to the Emir, “I want to use this moment to thank Almighty Allah and to also urge our pilgrims to pray for peace and unity of Nigeria most importantly, the newly inaugurated government both at the federal and state levels respectively.
“I also enjoin pilgrims from Ilorin Emirate and beyond to be good ambassadors of our dear country by conducting themselves in the most peaceful manner throughout their stay in the Holy cities of Madinnah and Makkah in order to get the maximum rewards for their spiritual engagements.”
Emir, however, thank the sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, the government and the good people of Kwara State for their continuous prayers and support, while praying to Allah to grant all the 2023 hajj pilgrims a successful spiritual exercise and wish them journey mercies back to their respective homes.
