2023: Give youths opportunity to lead, NYCN urges politicians

…backs AbdulRazaq’s second term bid

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) North Central zone has called on politicians to give youths the opportunity to be in leadership position, in order to have a progressive future.

The group disclosed this in a one-day youth leadership summit held in Ilorin, Kwara State on Tuesday.

The group applauded Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwarar State, describing him as one of the Governor in North central that gives room for youth participation in leadership.

The cover represented by his Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Senior Ibrahim said the constitutional amendment that reduced the age of political office holders is not enough, adding that aspiring for such position should also be made affordable.

“The standard should be drawn closer to the youth and made affordable. Not only laws, we must work towards it, their should be benchmark for seeking electoral positions,” he said.

For his part, the NYCN President Amb Sokubo Saraigbe, said sacrifice and service to the people makes a good leader.

He further urged the youth constituency to support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s second term in office in order for him to consolidate his achievements.

Dignitaries present at the summit include, Ibrahim Akaje, Hon. Ben Duntoye, Islamic cleric AbdulRahman Sallaty Al-Baarizy, among others.
