#2023-Election: Northern group wants Emefiele to join presidential race

A pressure group, Unified Northern Nigeria Youth Forum, has advised the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Godwin Emefiele to join the 2023 presidential race.

According to the group, Dr. Godwin Emefiele is the messiah Nigeria needs to survive this trying period.

“There has been a series of consultations and mass rallies across some states in the North, calling on Emefiele to join the race and contest for the office of president in the 2023 elections.

“We are here in Plateau to add to this call and mount this pressure further until we have acceptance from Emefiele.

“For any government to succeed and improve economically, it must turn to the CBN for the creation of initiatives and policies deliberately targeting the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“The CBN under the capable leadership of Emefiele introduced policies that led to the growth of GDP and created lots of employments in all states of the federation,” he said.

2023 Election

It could be recalled that earlier this month, The Informat247 reported that The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has published the Notice of Election for 2023 general elections, in compliance with extant provisions of the law.

As contained in the Notice, the date for the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Feb. 25, 2023, while the election for Governorship and State Houses of Assembly will hold on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The Commission also advised political parties to take note that the place for delivery of nomination papers for the elective offices would be at the INEC Headquarters Maitama, Abuja, via the online portal established for the purpose.
