2023: CAC warns Nigerians against vote trading
The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has warned Nigerians against selling their votes during the 2023 general election so as not to jeopardize their future.
CAC Evangelist General (Nigeria and Worldwide), Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji issued this caution during a press conference held on Thursday night ahead of a program scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, themed “Praise the Lord for His Mercy Endures eternal”.
The cleric, who called on the government to set up an agency that would educate electorates on voters education said, “Don’t allow them (politicians) to use your life as a sacrifice for the coming elections. Don’t sell your tomorrow for the money for the upcoming election”.
He added: “Do not allow anything to mortgage your future. Don’t allow any candidate to buy you because the future you’re looking at is very close to you.
“Those who sold their votes in the 2015 and 2019 elections did nothing tangible with them. My advice to all Christians, our ancestors prayed and God answered them”
While urging politicians to always accept the outcome of elections in good faith, he noted that many have always siezed post-election period to cause mayhem in the society- an act which is detrimental to the progress of the society.
“So let’s pray in our closets. If only we know this God, and He will answer us. Those of us who are going to vote are not doing anything contrary to the will of God because you want to vote for your election” he concluded.
