2022/2023 season: NPFL champions to get N100 million prize money
The Chairman of the Interim Management Committee( IMC) Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye has confirmed the prize money for the winner of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Speaking on a sports show on Kennis Radio on Monday morning, the former Director General of the Nigeria Sports Commission confirmed that the winner of the upcoming season will get N100 million as a cash reward.
“They promised to give last season’s winner ( Rivers United) N50 million which they are yet to pay till now.
We don’t want to promise what we cannot do, the winner of the 2022/2023 season will get N100 million as a cash prize”, he said.
The draws for the new season have been scheduled for Wednesday 28th of December at Sandralia Hotel in Abuja by 2 pm.
Meanwhile, the Informant247 reports that the club owners have threatened to boycott the league following the plan of the IMC to make it an abridged format.
