2 boys reportedly drown in Kaduna river

Two teenagers, Zakaria Aliyu Yahaya, 17, and Yusuf Abdullahi, 16, all in Junior Secondary School 1 at the Government Secondary School, Zaria Kaduna have reportedly drowned in the Kogin Mutuwa (River of Death), in Kaduna.

The passing of the teenagers who live at Angwar Sirdi in Zaria was revealed by Mallam Musa Dogara, a friend to their families,

Dogara said, “it was after sunset when they did not return that we began to look for them before one of their friends informed us that they told him they were going for a bath at the river.”

The family revealed that they did not take the issue seriously not until the teenagers did not come back home the following morning.

The family has gone in search of the teenagers and acknowledged that they went to the river.

The Kaduna Police spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige has not confirmed the incident, as at the time of filing this report.
