18 new players unveiled by Kwara United for new NPFL season

Kwara United Football Club has strengthened its squad with the addition of 18 new players ahead of the kickoff of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The new arrivals comprise 7 attackers, 4 midfielders, 5 defenders, and 2 goalkeepers, aimed at giving the Harmony Boys a competitive edge in the upcoming campaign.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Club Chairman Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, represented by General Manager Bashir Badawiy, praised the unwavering support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Kwara State Sports Commission, stressing that the team is “battle ready for the task ahead.”

Badawiy disclosed that 13 players exited the team on mutual consent without any financial obligations, while 14 players were retained and 18 new players signed. He further noted that the club prioritised capturing quality players to strengthen all departments of the squad.

While reiterating the NPFL’s strict stance against betting and other forms of misconduct, Badawiy assured that Kwara United players are fully aware of the penalties and are committed to upholding the ethics of the league. He also expressed gratitude to stakeholders and urged them to sustain their support for the club.

With this blend of youth and experience, Kwara United is poised to compete strongly as they begin their NPFL campaign against Ikorodu City on Sunday at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.
