179 associations donate N50m for Gov Zulum’s forms
Over 179 professional bodies, clubs, and associations embodying thousands of members have raised funds and donated a cheque of N50 million to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum.
The substantial amount of money was to cater for the cost of purchasing the governor’s expression of interest and nomination forms on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).
The groups had weeks ago started the fund raising exercise, receiving money from members and moreso, publicised an account number into which money can be sent.
While presenting the N50m cheque to the governor, the coalition’s spokesperson, Alhaji Awaji Bukar, said the contributions, were aimed at showing appreciation to Governor Zulum for his outstanding performance as the governor of Borno State.
Zulum in his reaction, said he was grateful for the confidence the coalition had in him and said he was excited with contributors who gave N1,000 from the little they have.
The Governor gave an assurance that his government, if he reelected, would build more infrastructures and invest more than he has ever done before.
Chairman of APC in the state, Ali Bukar Dalori, while addressing the coalition, appreciated them for their sacrifices and for standing with the APC in Borno State.
