17-year-old Yobe student crowned world best in English at 2025 TeenEagle finals

In a remarkable achievement for Nigeria, Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, has been declared the World Best in English Language Skills during the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London.

Representing the Nigerian Tulip International College, Nafisa triumphed over more than 20,000 participants from 69 countries, setting a historic benchmark for academic excellence in her state and nation.

The TeenEagle competition is a prestigious international contest that evaluates students’ English proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills, drawing participants from both English-speaking and non-English-speaking countries.

Hassan Salifu, the head of Nafisa’s family, proudly confirmed her victory, linking it to her unwavering dedication and the supportive environment fostered by the state government.

“Our daughter’s global success would not have been possible without the visionary support for education by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose efforts have brought international honor to our state and nation,” Salifu said.

He further emphasized Nafisa’s outstanding achievement in outperforming students from native English-speaking countries, highlighting her extraordinary intelligence and preparation.
