158 Libya returnees arrive Nigeria
National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, has welcomed a set of 158 stranded Nigerians from Libya.
The returnees included 49 adults female, seven female children and five female infants plus 83 male adults, six male children and eight male infants.
The figure of the returnees’ in totality was 61 females and 97 males out, hence four landed with different health challenges.
One of the females had sustained serious burns, two others had developed serious mental issues and the only man there had got fractured leg.
The returnees who entered via Al Buraq Air Boeing 737 – 800 with Registration number 5A-DMG at 1715 hours at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos State were welcomed on reaching at the Tarmac by the officials of NEMA, International Organisation for Migration IOM, , National Commision for Refugees, Nigeria Immigration Service and Internally displaced Persons and among other relevant agencies.
The Director General of the agency, Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed who was represented by the NEMA Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye gave an assurance to the returnees that the Federal Government is not reneging in its efforts to make the youths achieve their potentials in whatever way they desire.
He persuaded them to do away with vices as a country can only progress in a peaceful and calm environment for the growth of the nation.
