14-year-old remanded for defiling minor in Kwara

The Kwara State Family Court has ordered the remand of fourteen years old Abdullahi Sherif who allegedly strangled and raped a minor in the bush while defecating at Iji, Owu Isin area of the state.

The innocent girl was said to be defecating at the back of an uncompleted building when Sherif attacked her from behind, used fist to blow her, then forcefully took canal knowledge of her.

Police report stated that medical examination conducted at the Model Primary Health Care located in Owu, revealed there were bruises and semen suspected to be that of Sherrif on the victim’s private part.

The State prosecutor, Adigun Adisa, in his submission, prayed the court to order the remand of the suspect in the Correctional Service Centre on the basis that the alleged offences are not ordinarily bailable.

Magistrate Shade Lawal, who presided over the matter, ceded to the submission of the prosecutor, while the matter was adjourned to 16th of next month.
