Xmas: “Celebrate with love and generosity,” Otunba Oyabambi charges christians
A US-based philanthropist and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi, has extended his warmest greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate Christmas, the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a statement personally signed by him, Otunba Oyabambi described Christmas as a time of reflection, love, and compassion.
He called on Christian faithful to use the festive season to promote peace, unity, and harmony in their communities, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“Christmas is a time to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, who exemplified love, peace, and selflessness. As we celebrate, I urge Christians to embrace these virtues and live in harmony with others, fostering unity in our nation,” Oyabambi said.
He also advised Christians to extend their hands of fellowship to the less privileged, stressing that the true essence of Christmas lies in showing kindness and uplifting those in need.
“Let us remember the needy, the sick, and the vulnerable among us. By sharing love and giving generously, we can make this season brighter for everyone,” he added.
Otunba Oyabambi also encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast in the face of challenges, emphasising that collective effort and mutual respect are essential for building a better nation.
“As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of peace and unity. Our diversity is our strength, and by working together, we can achieve the progress and prosperity we desire as a nation,” he stated.
He concluded by wishing all Christians a joyous and meaningful Christmas celebration and praying for the peace and progress of Nigeria.
“May the blessings of this season bring joy to your homes and peace to our beloved country. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all,” Oyabambi said.
