Woman, 25, arainged for allegedly stabbing neighbour

Felicia Onome, who reportedly stabbed her neighbour in the back of the head, appeared in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Onome, who lives in Coastain, Kaduna, was accused with assault and criminal intimidation.

Insp Chidi Leo, the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that Blessing James of the same address reported the case to Gabasawa Police Station on Feb. 3.

During a confrontation, the defendant stabbed James, according to Leo.

According to the prosecution, the complainant suffered significant injuries and was brought to the hospital.

Leo stated that the offence violated articles 215 and 232 of the Kaduna State Penal Code of 2017.

The defendant denied having committed the crime.

Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

According to Emmanuel, the surety must be a blood relative of the prisoner and must live within the jurisdiction of the court.

He postponed the hearing until February 28.
