“We’re opening up communities for growth” — Olododo as Kwara begins Agbamu-Ila Orangun road

The Kwara State Government has begun construction work on the Agbamu–Ila Orangun Road, as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and boost development in rural areas.

The State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, made this known on Tuesday during an inspection of ongoing road projects in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

Olododo said the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is focused on building a stronger economy by connecting more communities through road projects.

“We’re opening up communities for growth. There is no doubt that His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is running an inclusive government that listens to the people and works within available resources,” he said.

Among the roads visited were the Agbamu–Ila Orangun Road awarded to CP Construction Company Ltd; Sabaja–Oba Isin–Owa Onire Road being handled by Fik Construction and Engineering Ltd; Palace Road and Fagbemi Road in Ilagbo awarded to Ultimate Construction Company; and the nearly completed Ibrahim Taiwo/Popo Road in Offa, handled by Craneburg Construction Company.

He also visited the newly completed Omu Aran–Or Ago Road and the Esie–Arandun Road, which is 90 percent done.

The commissioner revealed that the government is set to begin repair work on the Igbaja–Oke Ode Road soon.

While in Agbamu, Olododo paid a courtesy visit to the Arigbamu of Agbamu Kingdom, Oba Samuel Olaniyi Dare.

The monarch thanked the governor for approving the road project, which the community had been requesting since 1993.

He promised full support for the government’s development plans.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Agbamu Development Union, Commandant Kayode Oyinloye, praised the government for its efforts and called for more projects in the area.

The commissioner later visited the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye I, to offer condolences on the passing of his mother, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi, whom he described as a loving and selfless woman.

Olododo was accompanied on the inspection by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Infrastructure, Engr. Mudashirua Yusuf Oladimeji, and the Director of Civil Engineering at the Ministry of Works, Engr. Akanbi Moshood.
