We’ll use sports to eradicate poverty – FG
The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, had said that the government was determined to use sports to fight poverty in the country.
He made this revelation in Abuja, the country’s capital, yesterday at the 13th conference of Rotary District 9125.
He said, “Sports is one of the things that unite us in this country. So, we want to bring everybody under one umbrella because sports can be used to eradicate poverty, hunger and used to achieve universal primary education.
“Also, gender equality can be achieved through sports and to promote peace in any community. Therefore, we’ll see changes in the actions of our youths.”
The governor of District 9125, Ayoola Oyedokun, said that membership of the district had been expanded, under him, which had allowed the district to be of service to many communities.
