We’ll keep Bosun Tijani as minister after defeating Tinubu in 2027 – El-Rufai
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has praised Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, asserting that Tijani will retain his position if their coalition successfully removes President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.
“We will still keep Bosun Tijani because he is doing good work,” El-Rufai declared during the second edition of the Arewa Tech Fest in Katsina, an event dedicated to promoting technological innovation in northern Nigeria.
El-Rufai’s remarks came as Tijani delivered the keynote address at the festival, which gathered startups, investors, tech professionals, and policy leaders to explore advancements in the tech sector.
Apologizing for his late arrival, El-Rufai explained that he was delayed due to a significant coalition meeting held the evening before. “They (the organising team) had to come without me because yesterday (Tuesday) at 8pm there was a very important meeting of the coalition we’re putting together to ensure that President Tinubu goes back to Lagos,” he said.
He further clarified his situation, stating, “I had to attend that meeting at 8pm. The Katsina airport does not operate after 8pm, so I could not come until this morning.”
El-Rufai is actively involved in efforts to mobilize a coalition of political parties aimed at unseating President Tinubu, following his recent shift from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
