The Kwara State Coordinator for the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), Hon. AbdulRauf Abaya, has congratulated the General Manager of Kwara United Football Club, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, on his appointment as National Director of Football for the political movement, describing the recognition as well-deserved.

A statement signed by the State Coordinator on Sunday stated that the appointment of Badawiy underscores his unwavering commitment to using football as a vehicle for unity and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general election.

The group, whose core mandate is dedicated towards mobilizing support  for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressed that Badawiy’s expertise would further strengthen grassroots mobilization of young minds and sports lovers across the country in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“At the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), Kwara state chapter, we welcome the appointment of our brother and compatriot, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, as the National Director of Football for our great movement at the national level. This recognition is truly well-deserved and promising for our beloved state.

According to the group, Badawiy, who is a seasoned football administrator, would bring “his wealth of experience to bear to support the Kwara State Chapter for the realization of its core mandate of preaching the President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the 16 local government areas of the state.

“With Badawiy’s appointment, we believe that mobilizing young people—through the blend sports and politics—will strengthen our grassroots engagement efforts in Kwara state. This, especially, would help our movement’s political strategy for the re-election bid of Mr. President at the 2027 general elections.”

The group, meanwhile, expressed their heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of Kwara state, especially the victims of Woro Community attacks, over the unfortunate incident, pledging support for the victims during their scheduled visit to the community.

Abaya, while condemning the onslaught that claimed the lives of over 100 victims, urged adequate support from relevant Federal and State Government agencies in reintegrating and bringing comfort to the families of the victims during this difficult moment.

“As we mourn the unfortunate onslaught which claimed the lives of over 100 persons in Woro Community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, our thoughts and prayers are with their families as we scheduled a visit to the community to provide support to the families in due course.”

The statement, however, said the formal inauguration of the TSO structure across the 16 local government areas of Kwara state would take place in the coming months, adding that the moves would further strengthen its political base and mobilise voters ahead of the forthcoming elections.
