‘We have more to achieve in agriculture ministry’ – Abolore tells staff as he assumes new role
The new Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi, has assumed duty following the cabinet reshuffle by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Abolore previously headed Solid Minerals Development, a Ministry now headed by Mrs Olaitan Buraimoh.
During his inaugural address to the management team, Dr. Abolore emphasized the importance of diligence, commitment, and unwavering focus in advancing the administration’s vision for agriculture in Kwara State.
He called on the Ministry’s leadership and staff to remain steadfast in their dedication to service, urging them to do their best to further the agricultural transformation agenda set by Governor AbdulRazaq.
“I have no doubt in your capacity to deliver. You have always given your best in service; now is the time to do even more in our collective pursuit of excellence in Kwara’s agricultural sector,” Dr. Abolore stated.
Dr. Abolore also extended his appreciation to his predecessor, Hon. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, who now occupied the newly created Livestock Ministry for Livestock, for her dedication and the high standards she had set during her tenure while acknowledging her efforts in positioning the Ministry in a positive light and ensuring its progress.
Hon. Oloruntoyosi Thomas expressed gratitude to the Ministry’s management and staff for their unwavering support throughout her tenure in her handover remarks. She assured them that the Ministry remains in capable hands under the leadership of Dr. Abolore.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Funke Sokoya, warmly welcomed Dr. Abolore while assuring him of the Ministry’s full cooperation and support to succeed.
“We are fully committed to ensuring the continued success of the Ministry. With teamwork and dedication, we will achieve the vision set by His Excellency for agriculture in Kwara State,” Mrs. Sokoya stated.
She also expressed gratitude to the immediate past Commissioner for her service and prayed for a successful tenure for Dr. Abolore.
