We generated N16bn in 11 months: Nasarawa govt

Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service says it generated N16 billion from January to date.

Alhaji Sabo Balarabe, the Permanent Member 1 in the Service stated this while defending the service`s 2023 budget before the state House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation on Thursday in Lafia.

“I want to disclose that we have generated N16 billion from January 2022 to date in the state,” he said.

Balarabe commended the committee for supporting their activities.

“I want to appreciate Gov. Abdullahi Sule for giving adequate attention to the service.

“The achievements we have recorded was as a result of the support we are enjoying from his administration,” he said.

The permanent member assured of the service`s readiness to generate more revenue to the coffers of the state government.

Earlier, Mr Aliyu Dogara, Chairman of the Committee commended the service for good budget performance and for good 2023 budget presentation.

“I want to commend you for good revenue performance. You have done well and still doing well in generating funds to the coffers of government. We urge you to keep it up.

“We also want to appreciate the governor for his passion in supporting the service to succeed and for the overall development of the state, ” he said.

The chairman assured of the committee’s readiness to support the service to succeed at all times.
