War against terrorism not over – Chief of Air Staff cautions troops to be resolute

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, has warned Nigerian troops always to be active and battle-ready against terrorism and other related criminals in the country.

The Chief of Air Staff gave the warning on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, during a Christmas luncheon organised by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai for the personnel

Abubakar said the Nigerian Air Force is not just defending the airspace as the core mandate but also the very fabric of the society, their values, their future and has been a significant support system to the ground forces, as well as other security agencies.

He said, “Your efforts in the face of danger and hardship ensure that peace has a chance to return to this region once again.”

Abubakar stated that their concerted efforts backed by strategic planning, community engagements, as well as firm resolve have incapacitated the insurgents, disrupted their activities and reduced their ability to harm innocent lives, adding that the current security challenges the nation is facing require modern and versatile platforms to address such menace.

Abubakar stated that as they move forward into the new year, they should renew their commitment to the task at hand with even greater resolve, stressing that they have come far. The road ahead required all of them to stay united, focused and steadfast in the face of any challenges.
