Two arrested for allegedly stealing cows in Kwara

Two cattle rustlers in Oro-Ago, Ifelodun Local Government Area have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State.

The spokesman for the NSCDC in the state, Babawale Afolabi, said the suspects were said to be among the rustlers who had been terrorising some communities in Kwara State.

Two of the three-man gang rustlers were arrested on Tuesday by the Miyetti Allah Vigilante group during an attack on a herdsman, Raura Mohammed, in his camp in Oro-Ago, while one member of the gang escaped into the bush.

He gave the names of the arrested suspects as Abdullahi Ideh and Kadiri Babuga, while the third suspect, identified as Baba Sanda, escaped.

Babawale said, “The rustlers attacked the herdsman with weapons and left him unconscious before they made away with his three cows valued at N1.5m.”

He said that the suspects were in NSCDC custody and would face prosecution after the completion of investigation while effort was being made to arrest the fleeing third suspect.
