Trouble for Osun gov-elect, Adeleke over alleged attempt to delay handing over

The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC of plotting with the judiciary to delay the handing-over ceremony already scheduled for Sunday, November 27.

The allegation has triggered reactions from different quarters including the APC.

The PDP has accused the outgoing governor and his party of collaborating with the judiciary to frustrate the handing-over ceremony.

The Informant247 observes that the outgoing governor, Gboyega Oyetola and the governor elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke are currently in serious legal battle over the guber election which took place in the state, July 16.

The chairman of the PDP caretaker, Akidele Adekunle, in a statement released to newsmen, has warned the judge presiding over the ongoing tribunal matter between the current governor and the governor-elect.

The statement reads: “To avoid becoming part of the plot to scuttle the will of Osun people and to prove that he is indeed not available for the APC reactionary agenda, Adagunodo should urgently kick-start the process of case withdrawal.

“The failure to close the case will confirm allegations and alleged grand coalition among the APC, Adagunodo, and a section of the judiciary to throw Osun into a constitutional crisis.”

Reacting, an aide to the Governor, Sunday Akere, revealed that the allegations leveled against his boss were mere fictions while imploring the PDP to be much focused on internal crisis of the party.

Akere said: “It is quite unfortunate that PDP leaders are always afraid of their own shadow. What has Governor Oyetola or the APC got to do with matters that affect PDP?

“Instead they should face their internal problem and stop bringing APC into it. The governor is not interested in their issues. We believe in the rule of law and we believe that justice will prevail for us.”
