Tinubu swears in seven new ministers after Senate confirmation
Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday sworn in sworn in the newly screened Ministers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tinubu, while speaking shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, said, “Economic recovery is on the horizon,” adding that “We have a good path to realise our dreams, and it is not just only for us is for our children and grandchildren.
The President, while acknowledging the economic challenges in the country and the job of re-engineering and retooling it is ongoing, asked the new Ministers that they had been “called upon to join the team to rescue this country.”
The Informant247 had, on October 23, reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had sacked five of his ministers and appointed seven new ones as part of the much-anticipated cabinet reshuffle.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the presidency following the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency, pursuant to his commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.”
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was named Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
The President also nominated Maigari Dingyadi as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Idi Maiha as Minister for the newly created Livestock Development Ministry, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Suwaiba Ahmad appointed as Minister of State for Education and Dr Nentawe Yilwada replaces Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
