Tinubu postpones presentation of N47.9trn 2025 budget to Wednesday
Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed the earlier presentation of the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, 2024, to Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Vanguard reports that the sources within the Senate revealed that a top management staff of the National Assembly confirmed the shift. An official statement regarding the postponement will be issued in the coming hours.

Earlier, during a meeting a month ago, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved Nigeria’s 2025-2027 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which includes the N47.9 trillion budget for 2025. The plan anticipates N9.22 trillion in new borrowing to finance the budget deficit, with an oil price benchmark of $75 per barrel, a daily production target of 2.06 million barrels, and an exchange rate of N1,400 to the dollar.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would present an N47.9 trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill before the Joint Session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, 17th December 2024.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while confirming the joint session of the National Assembly, said that senators would first converge on the Senate chambers before proceeding to the Chamber of the House of Representatives to receive the President.
