Tinubu confers National Honours on Falcons, awards $100k cash, house to each player

Following an historic win at the just concluded Women’s African Cup of Nation (WAFCON) held at Morocco, Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, conferred National Honours of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the victorious Super Falcons.

It would be recalled that the Super Falcons on Saturday, defeated the host country, Morocco to win the historic 10th WAFCON.

President Tinubu who is currently hosting the Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa, Abuja also announced the award of the naira equivalence of $100,000 to each to the 24 players, and also allocated three-bedroom apartments in Abuja to each of the players and the technical crew at the Renewed Hope Estate.

Also present at the celebration is the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who has been cheering the Falcons since the commencement of the tournament.
