Tinubu approves appointment of new Fire Service CG

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, the Deputy Controller-General (DCG) as the substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.

This announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) through a statement signed by Secretary Abdulmalik Jibrin.

“This appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, on August 1, 2025, upon reaching the age of sixty,” the statement noted.

DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi is recognized for his extensive experience in fire service management, having transitioned from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service where he rose to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

Throughout his career, Adeyemi has completed all required In-Service trainings and command courses, in addition to several trainings both locally and internationally.

“He has served in various capacities and is a member and fellow of several professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria,” the statement added.

The Board also took the opportunity to extend its gratitude to the retiring Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his significant contributions to the advancement of the Federal Fire Service and acknowledged his commitment to various initiatives throughout his tenure.
