The spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Olusegun Olushola, has insisted that the party remains a formidable force in Kwara State despite the recent gale of defections.

Olushola, who disclosed this while appearing on The Informant247 TV show, “The Discourse”, said the party is currently focused on strengthening its grassroots support and remains unbothered by the defections.

He said, “While some members have defected to other parties, we remain unbothered because they are primarily political opportunists seeking personal gains and do not genuinely believe in our party’s vision.”

When asked what they would have done differently if still in power, he responded, “We have a long-term master plan that had been signed, aiming to guide the state’s development for the next 50 years. If we had remained in power, commitments such as the full implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage would have been fully honoured without the partial adjustments that have left many workers underpaid under the current administration.”

He further questioned how the state government plans to meet the newly proposed N70,000 minimum wage, given its struggles to implement the previous wage structure.
