Suspected herdsmen behead Ondo farmer
Unaha Enesi, a farmer in Ago panu Community in Owo council area of Ondo state, was gruesomely killed and beheaded by suspected herdsmen.
Sources revealed that the middle-aged victim was murdered on his farm situated at Ago Panu at Upenmen, Owo, along Owo/Ikare road, and the killers absconded with his head.
It was reported that the victim who was from Kogi state had been farming at Ago Panu for years until his sudden death.
An source said that his family enthusiastically began to search for him when he did not return home after the days of farming.
” But, unfortunately, the search party only discovered his lifeless body in a pool of blood with his head cut off.
A friend of the victim, who is also a farmer, Ibrahim Adeiza described him as “a hardworking young man, an easy-going man who never quarrels with anyone.
He said that ” the people are now apprehensive of going to the farm for fear of being killed.
The council chairman of Owo, Chief Samuel Adegbegi, who paid a visit to the community, condole with the family over the death of the man.
Adegbegi encourage the people to use this period of Ramadan fasting to move closer to God to expose the evil doers.
He, however, gave an assurance that adequate security of their lives and properties, would be strategized and worked on.
The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami said the matter has not been reported to the headquarters by the Divisional Police Officer DPO in Owo.
Odunlami persuaded for time to contact the DPO for full details of the incident.
