Super Eagles remain ‘static’ as FIFA releases new rankings
The world soccer governing body (FIFA) on Thursday released the latest ranking for men National teams across the World.
In the new rankings, Nigeria’s Super Eagles remained static in the 31st position they held in the last rankings and 4th rated country in Africa.
The Nigerian team was involved in an international friendly match against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in Oran in the month under review which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
It’s believed that the result of the game added no points for Nigeria as it counted for little in the ranking which will be last as countries head in to the Qatar World Cup in November.
African champions, Senegal remained the continent’s best-placed team as they occupy 18th position in the World.
Nigeria dropped to 31st position from 30th in the rankings that was released in June and since then failed to go back up.
