Stray bullet kills 500L UNIZIK student as soldiers, gunmen clash in Imo
A stray bullet has hit Godson Anumenwe, a final year student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The Informant247 learned that the victim was a 500 level Radiography student.
The incident happened during a gun battle between some unknown gunmen and soldiers.
Report has it that there’s a gun duel between military officers and the unidentified gunmen at a military checkpoint at Ubomiri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was gathered that the victim had left Port Harcourt for his home town, Saturday night, December 31, 2022 when he received the stray bullet.
Anonde Stephen, the President of the Radiography Students’ Association, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday, January 2, 2023.
“Until the time of his death, he was in the 500 level class waiting to sign out very soon. It’s a very sad loss for all,” the statement read.
“We sympathize with the bereaved and urge all to remember the family in prayers as we grief and mourn this great loss. Rest easy Godson.”
