Spanish Club terminates contract of Super Eagles’ midfielder
Spanish second division club Huesca CD have severed its relationship with the Super Eagles‘ Midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali.
The termination of the contract is coming at the height of the failure of Kelechi in meeting up with the ‘discipline’ ethics of the club.
The Informant247 recalls that Huesca and Nwakali were at loggerheads after the 23-year-old reported late to the club from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.
Confirming the Super Eagles midfielder’s contract termination in a statement via their website on Tuesday, the club noted that “The Huesca Sports Society has terminated the contractual relationship that the first-team footballer Kelechi Nwakali maintained with the Barça entity until now”
It further reads that “the club has communicated to the player the decision to terminate the contract that he joined both in this campaign and expired in June 2022”.
“SD Huesca wishes Nwakali the best in his professional future.”
His late arrival had consequently seen his relationship with the club going off track even while he was before the time an integral part of the club.
Reports say that Spanish Players’ Union had accused the lower division club of committing procedural breaches in the handling of the case.
