Sowore rules out alliance with Peter Obi, says he doesn’t crave his followers
Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has hinted that he does not seek followers of Peter Obi and ruled out any alliance with the former Anambra State governor.
“If people who were misled to join him now feel they have seen the light and want to join us, I’m happy to welcome them,” Sowore posted on X.
Sowore criticized Obi’s association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which governed Nigeria for 16 years.
He pointed out that Obi served as an economic advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan during a period when the PDP was accused of significant corruption.
“His heart is with the PDP, which ruled this country for 16 years. @peterObi was @GEJonathan’s Economic Advisor when the PDP stole the most money during their tenure,” he said.
Sowore argued that the country’s problems stem from self-deception and dismissed narratives emphasising experience and complexity, suggesting they distract from the need for good governance.
